Spirit Mountains
From 3rd to 23th of March 2023
“Pokhara is pure free-flight freedom – there can’t be another place like it on the planet. Here, paragliding means sailing barefoot with warm wind in your hair, getting a drink at the take-off bar and one more right after landing. Two boats drift lazily around the lake, waiting for those who might lose control at low altitude and splash down.”
Felix Wolk- official photographer Red Bull X-Alps
Main Nepalese center for adventure lovers, since 1995 Pokhara has established itself worldwide as one of the most evocative free flight sites due to its proximity to the Himalayan range. From the take-off of Sarangkot (20 minutes by car from the center) you can enjoy the view of three mountain groups that exceed 8000 meters and other minor peaks. From west to east, in succession: the Dhaulagiri (8167 m), the Annapurna, (with the highest peak of 8091m) and the Manaslu (8163 m). The Machhapuchhare (6993 m), known as the “Himalayan Matterhorn” for its extraordinary and striking resemblance to our mountain, stands out on all sides from its pyramidal shape.
Cross Country Inside
The enormous XC potential of the place means that even this journey is inevitably in the name of cross country and therefore the same formula. The pilots are supported by our expert guide, Leone Antonio Pascale (with a FAI of 154 km he sets the Asian record https://www.xcontest.org/2019/world/en/flights/detail:leone/16.03.2019/04:35 ), in the analysis of the meteorological conditions, in the planning of the flights and in the evening de-briefings. The latter aim to allow participants to make the most of the conditions on subsequent flights in the margins of maximum safety.
The particular orography of the territory, the aerological conditions (demanding if you decide to move along the highest ridges and the typically Himalayan logistical difficulties make it even more useful, if not indispensable, to be able to benefit from an organization able to manage, analyze and plan the best flight crossover having in mind the many areas forbidden to flight that characterize the area of Pokhara.

Other Stuff To Do
At the foot of the Himalayas, dominated by some of the most fascinating peaks (above all the Annapurna), in an area rich in rivers, lakes (which gave it the name of the City of 7 lakes) and several hills that seem to want to protect the city, Pokhara has easily established itself as a reference center in Nepal for outdoorsports. Many are the proposals: trekking (among the many, very suggestive is undoubtedly the path to the top of Mount Sarangkot to enjoy the spectacle that the sun gives by illuminating the Annapurna in the early hours of the morning); boat or kayak excursions on the Phewa lake (second in Nepal in size) reaching, perhaps, the island where the Tal Barahi Temple is located. Besides our hotel, it is also possible to practice indoor climbing in a special structure. The laziest, instead, will be able to visit the Buddhist area, the various temples that characterize the city or simply take relax in one of the many bars along the “lakeside”.
