XC in the Cradle of Human Species

From 17th to 28th of January 2026

Fly safari tour Kenya is a journey through some of Kenya’s richest and most fascinating natural areas.
Exploration, adventure, cross-country, and respect for local culture will be the mantras of this latest adventure by Nomad Wings, in collaboration with a team of international and Kenyan pilots who have been exploring the skies of Kenya for over 15 years.

The flight area is particularly large, and the choice will be determined by weather conditions. There are many options: Lake Naivasha, Kijiabe, Rift Valley, Ebury, Tala, Nzui… If the group wishes, they can also opt for a short stay in the, well known Kerio Valley.

Cross Country Inside

Cross-country flying, primarily on the plains, with mountain takeoffs. Once you reach the day’s takeoff, all that’s left to do is takeoff and decide whether to triangulate or fly to the finish line.
Some takeoffs require a walk-up approach, so a good level of walking is essential.
Analysis of the weather conditions and the subsequent selection of the most suitable takeoff site will be followed by a briefing on the type of flight and the critical issues (strategy, altitudes required for travel, landings, meeting points for recovery, etc.).
There will certainly be plenty of relaxation and dynamic flying sessions under the magical African sunsets.

Required to participate:
• autonomy and good takeoff and landing skills.
• Good experience in cross-country flying.
• Ability to adapt and manage the post-flight phase.
• Respect for the local culture and population.

And for those lovers of athletics there is no better place to train with the best of the world’s athletes. Iten, in fact, is considered home to marathon runners who come to train in the month of January taking advantage of the low air pressure of 2400 meters.

I had great time in Kenya, it would have been good to have flown with you some more. I will be coming to Italy next year so would love to come and see you and go flying again.
Thanks again for a great time and no doubt see you again. “

How it was in kenya? One word will say everything: incredible! every day rising sun at half past six, in five minutes from darkness into daylight, its incredible! take off less then hundred steps from hotel and flying at eight o clock in the morning. its incredible! ridge with lenght moree then hundred kilometers and on each kilometer people talking with you and screaming “how are you?” its incredible! cloud base at 4000 metres and thermals 5+, slow wind and rerefield oxygen, freezing in this alttidute, its incredible. the culture totally different from us, people in “winter clothes” for us but in 25degrees …everything is easy going, half of year is resting time just for looking around and enjoy nature…..how to say this? INCREDIBLE!”.
